Commercial Alliances
HemaQuest's products have the potential to address both small, focused markets (e.g., sickle cell anemia) as well as some of the largest markets for drugs today (e.g., anemia). The Company intends to take several approaches to developing and commercializing its products. For large product opportunities, such as anemia and neutropenia, the Company intends to seek biopharmaceutical partners with the resources to complete clinical development as well as to market and sell its products. For products that are targeting smaller markets, such as sickle cell anemia and thalassemia, the Company is considering several commercialization options. Given that patients with sickle cell anemia and thalassemia are cared for at a select number of treatment centers, it is possible for HemaQuest to complete development and potentially market and sell its products for these indications. However, HemaQuest recognizes that additional resources may help it to successfully commercialize products for these applications and so will consider a variety of partnering relationships including co-promotion, co-marketing and licensing deals. We will consider partnering on a regional basis as well as securing global partnerships on our products.
