HemaQuest's products address markets where there are few available therapeutics and patients have poor prognoses and shortened lifespans. Similar to other drugs in hematology and oncology that address unmet medical needs, it is likely that our products will command a high price if they prove effective. There are several potential approaches for commercializing our products given their target markets. Within the United States, it is possible for HemaQuest to develop and commercialize its products. Business DevelopmentFor example, EBV-related lymphoid malignancies are cared for by a limited number of oncologists, making it feasible for HemaQuest to market and sell our product. For sickle cell disease and beta thalassemia, many patients are treated at specialized centers with pediatricians and primary care physicians, so that a small sales force may be able to address this market. However, the Company recognizes that additional resources may help to successfully complete development and commercialize products for these indications and so it will consider a variety of partnering relationships including co-promotion, co-marketing and licensing deals. Outside the United States, the Company intends to find partners for its products. For larger opportunities of products for treating anemia and neutropenia, the Company intends to seek biopharmaceutical partners with the resources to complete clinical development and to market and sell these products.
